Beginning Belly Dance Class: Thursdays 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm Continuing Belly Dance Class: Thursdays 6:40 pm to 7:40 pm Intermediate to Advanced Belly Dance Class: Wednesdays 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm COST: $10 per class (usual drop in rates are $12)! Learn the beautiful art form of Bellydance in a fun and supportive atmosphere. You will learn basic belly dance moves and exciting combinations while developing body awareness, coordination, and confidence. This class focuses on Middle-Eastern dance through the teaching of basic movements and combinations by sequencing those elements into fun choreography. Muscular control and proper technique are emphasized. ¨This class includes a detailed breakdown of technique and proper posture" "Focus on isolation, strength, flexibility, basic steps and combinations" "We will learn basic movements, as well as choreography to put it all together" Class Attire: Yoga pants or leggings and a fitted top or a leotard. Please no big t-shirts, sweatshirts, skirts, sweatpants, or baggy "harem pants". Bare feet, socks, or ballet Slippers. No gym or hard-soled shoes. Etiquette Please do your best to arrive 5-10 minutes early for class to check in and get ready. Classes will start on time. Do not hesitate to ask questions if you need clarification or inform the teacher if something is uncomfortable or painful. Thorn Coyle At SPIRITWISE When: Saturday and Sunday August 22nd & 23rd Our souls are fed through the power of inspiration and direct communion with the Gods and the Elements of Life. Accessing this effectively takes training, yet we are often expected to learn good ritual skills by osmosis. This only rarely works, on those precious few who learn well without structure. In this workshop we will see how the parts of soul relate to various parts of ritual, thus learning to access the sacred through all our parts. Together, we will learn to listen to Deity and to the forces around us, and learn then to speak from a place of inspired, poetic connection. This workshop will draw upon the skills and questions of all participants in order to deepen our ritual process. Experienced priests can learn how to revitalize their ritual practice, becoming more effective leaders. Those newer to the Craft can learn which questions to ask, and what energies to notice. We will do soul work, brainstorming, and creative rhythm play. We will sing, drum, dance and of course, make ritual. Please bring instruments, a cup, a journal, divination tools (cards or runes), a magical tool to work with, and a curious mind and open heart. |
